A recent initiative allows colleagues to extend their network of contacts across the medical profession including GPs, consultants and other medical professionals in the North east of Scotland.

A successful launch event was attended by 75 doctors. Over 100 doctors from primary and secondary care have been paired up to shadow each other.

GPs and consultants have been working together on the issues previously highlighted such as improving hospital discharges, continuity of care, recruitment, advice and communication, leadership development etc

We are keen to keep the momentum going and update everybody on progress made on the themes identified. Follow up event are your opportunity to meet colleagues and influence these important issues that impact on the quality of patient care and our daily working lives.

At an event on 25th May 2016 at Thainstone House, Inverurie, the main focus was on informing priorities around ‘Realistic Medicine‘. Dr Angus Cameron, Scottish Government Lead for the National Strategy helped us understand what realistic medicine will mean to us and our patients.
