Microbiome Revolution, Are We Ready for the Big Time?
Speaker: Professor Emad El-Omar, UNSW Australia.
Emad M. El-Omar graduated in Medicine from Glasgow University, and trained as a gastroenterologist. His career includes roles as a Visiting Scholar/Scientist at Vanderbilt University, TN, and the National Cancer Institute, MD, USA. He also served as a Professor of Gastroenterology at Aberdeen University, for 16 years before assuming his current position at UNSW.
He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney and Director of the Microbiome Research Centre at UNSW/St George Hospital and the Editor in Chief of the journal Gut.
His research interests include all aspects of the microbiome, inflammation-driven GI cancer and IBD.
