The changes in health care since the creation of the NHS have been seismic for everyone in the UK, including those in North East Scotland and the Northern Isles.
More than 50 members of staff, with the backing of the University of Aberdeen and the Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society, have recorded their recollections, some written, some oral, of their specialties and research in and around Aberdeen in the second half of the 20th century, and some more recently, covering developments in the first 70 years of the NHS. These records are unique and personal. Written and recorded by experts in their fields, they are human stories of change and adaptation.
This book is designed for both researchers and anyone interested in the story of health care in the North East.
