Professor Graham Page FRCS, FRCEM, FFOM
Graham Page attended Robert Gordon’s College and studied medicine at Aberdeen University, graduating MB ChB (1968). He trained in Aberdeen and Dundee and spent a year on a research fellowship at Harvard University in the USA in 1974. As a consultant in Emergency Medicine at ARI from 1981 to 2010., he was a gifted administrator and educator, Graham was a prime mover in establishing that department which has subsequently become part of a Major Trauma Centre. He co-ordinated the departmental response to the Piper Alpha disaster in 1988 and subsequent enquiries.
Graham had a special interest in the provision of healthcare in remote areas, including the oil and gas industry and polar bases in Antarctica. He supported the British Antarctic Survey’s medical unit and spent three-month as ship’s doctor onboard the Survey’s RRS Bransfield, visiting the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic mainland.
